SPARKS LAKE, BEND, OREGON | PORTRAIT SESSION

PORTRAIT SESSION AT SPARKS LAKE, in BEND, OREGON

Photography is all about ventures and discovering something extraordinary from an ordinary!

I strive to familiarize myself with my photography sessions locations. I had an engagement and a family session tied up at the Sparks Lake this coming weekend and the clients were hoping for the gorgeous Cascade Mountains background. Of course, a beautiful mountain scenery can turn your picture into true magic. However, I was worried because there have been forest fires in Oregon lately and it made the sky smokey, spoiling the astounding mountainous background.

To avoid any future casualties, I had to check the lighting and other elements for my sessions. Luckily, my cousin Newara was up for being my model while I took some test shots. She’s always up for some kind of adventures and fun! We drove to Sparks Lake to catch golden hour.

To my amazement, after getting some test shots, the Smokey haze made the striking red and orange hues from the sunset more intensive and magical!

Speaking of my cousin Newara, she’ll be starting her senior year at UCLA this September! There, she has decided to major in Communication Studies and minor in Environmental System and Society. Newara is not particular with her goals, yet, she wants to do something that can change the world and bring peace!

Newara has always been a nature girl! Coming to Bend makes her feel more connected to earth and people on it. She loves the weekly farmer’s market and cool restaurants in Bend.

It was hard to leave this startling landscape and perfect weather and I wanted to seize the moment, but the bright rays from the sun faded behind the mountains and we headed towards home heavy heartedly! I loved every bit of this photography session and I truly wish my cousin good luck for her future ventures!
